How do I apply for a 911 address ?

You can fill out the bottom portion of this form and email it to the address above, or schedule an apt. by calling 843-547-8378. Please note that it takes five (5) business days for an address assignment, as the post office must confirm the zip code

Who do I notify if my road sign has been stolen or knocked down?

Fill out the Missing Road Sign Form. People that are removing the signs don't realize how much this is costing the county.

How do I start getting my mail at my new address?

You must contact your local postmaster for mail delivery.

Why is there so much difference in house numbers?

We issue a new number ever 5.2 feet. This is done in order to provide enough numbers to allow several houses on one parcel.

Do I need to post my 911 address?

Yes, this is very important. It makes it a lot easier for people, such as emergency services and home deliveries, to find you. Your number should be posted on the face of the building in plain view from the street on which the building is addressed. The green reflective signs out beside the road help if you can't see your home from the road.

Will you verify my address?

Yes, I will have to know who is living there and who owns the land.

Can you tell me my new address? I'm still using my old one.

Yes, I will need to know what your old address is.

What do I need in order to get a 911 address?

You will need a copy of the parcel or plat of the land where the home will be located and a tax map number.
