JOB ANNOUNCEMENT DATE: December 10, 2018

Job Summary: Incumbent will perform moderately complex technical accounting work in preparation and maintenance of the budget and accounts payable transactions. The selected candidate will perform a variety of clerical and administrative tasks as assigned. The position reports to the Administrative Services Director.
Essential Tasks: Tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in the class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work, as necessary.
Open and distributes mail, answers department telephone
Processes and enters invoices, vouchers, and travel reimbursements
Prints and issues checks for vendors, vouchers and reimbursements
Posts and prepares deposits for cash receipts
Maintains and updates vendor information in accounting software and spreadsheets
Issues emergency purchase order numbers
Maintains paid invoice files
Audits vendor statements
Processes W-9’s and 1099’s as required
Assists with annual financial audits and preparation of the annual budget
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Requires Associates degree with major concentration in accounting, business, or related field and 1-2 years accounting experience or, equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word computer applications, strongly desired. Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail are required. Successful candidate must have a good aptitude for figures and superior analytical and problem solving ability.
